Cookie Policy

This site uses a small number of cookies and equivalent local-storage items. The Cookie Notice banner is governed separately; this section explains what is set, by whom, and for how long.

Strictly-necessary

WordPress login session (wordpress_logged_in_*) — only set when you sign into a donor or admin account. The auth nonce that secures REST requests (wordpress_test_cookie, wp-settings-*). All deleted on sign-out.

Functional

Language preference (localStorage.gs_lang, no cookie) — remembers EN / KO / ZH / JA selection across visits.

Analytics

Jetpack Stats — anonymous, aggregated visit counts. No third-party advertising cookies.

Payment

HiPay sets its own session cookies on its domain (test.hipay.mn / hipay.mn) only during an active checkout. We do not see those cookies and they expire when the payment session ends.

Tax receipts

Per-jurisdiction · refreshed annually

Tax treatment of your donation depends on your country of residence and the legal vehicle that receives the donation. The receipt you receive will name the issuing entity. Below is a guide; we are not tax advisers — please consult your own.

Mongolia (direct)

Donations to the Green Finance Initiative LLC are treated as charitable contributions under Mongolian tax law. A Mongolian-tax-ID receipt is issued on request.

United Kingdom

UK donors can claim Gift Aid through our fiscal sponsor (registered UK charity). Tick the Gift Aid box at checkout — adds 25 % to your gift at no cost to you.

European Union

Most EU jurisdictions require a fiscal-sponsor relationship. We currently work with TGE (Transnational Giving Europe) for cross-border deductibility from registered countries. Email maralgoo@green-shields.com for the country-specific receipt.

United States

US donors give via our 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor; receipts include their EIN and are issued within 5 business days.

Board composition

Five seats, one of which rotates annually among the Forest User Group councils. No board member receives compensation for service. Any director with a financial interest in a vendor recuses from votes that affect that vendor.

Funding sources, Phase-1

The Green Finance Initiative is funded by founder capital, two Mongolian institutional grants (BCM Future-Proofing Fund, National Green Lab seed), and donor contributions to the Green Shield Mongolia programme. No single funder represents more than 30 % of operating budget. Full breakdown published in the Annual Audit Report.

Related-party transactions

None to disclose for the current reporting period. Any future related-party transactions will be tabled here within 14 days of board approval.

Accessibility statement

WCAG 2.2 AA target · last reviewed 5 May 2026

Green Shield Mongolia commits to making this site usable by the widest possible audience, in line with WCAG 2.2 Level AA and the EU Accessibility Act (effective June 2025). Self-assessment is maintained by the engineering team and reviewed every six months.

Conformance level

Largely AA-conformant. Four known issues remain at the time of writing — listed below in priority order.

Known gaps

• The Mongolian-aimag map on the donor flow's project picker is keyboard-navigable but lacks live-region announcements for selection state — fix in v3.1.
• Some legacy partner logo images carry empty alt="" attributes; we are working with partners to capture proper alt text.
• The procedural shield-badge SVGs in the donor flow have implicit ARIA roles only; explicit role="img" + aria-label coming in v3.1.
• Footer links use thin underlines that risk failing 3:1 contrast on certain monitor calibrations — increasing to 1.5 px in v3.1.
